In this letter, I wanted to share my vision for the next phase of this Counter Nature project (this is where the free NFTs will come from). And, of course, my brief opinion and perspective on this ugly crypto downturn that has led us to the Terra and LUNA “stablecoin” crash. A brief introduction to my perspective on the Terra stablecoin: I think its use of the word stablecoin was wrongful.

In this letter, I will share some art I've admired recently, as well as a brief headline from one of the Ukraine-Russia side-stories. I will reserve most of my commentary for only one topic in this letter, which is probably the most important: Le Doge

Obviously, the most important thing in the world right now is the conflict between Ukraine and Russia. I won't share too much on the news or my opinion on it besides the fact that I'm clearly against what Putin is forcing his servicemen and country into. Ukraine is valiant, inspiring and hopelessly outnumbered. I discuss some resources for the conflict in Ukraine and the innovative Pokt Network.

This letter will be focused on pulling inspiration and knowledge from others. February is Black History Month, so I will be starting this letter with key accomplishments and moments from Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy. After that, it's straight into the biggest and most amount of news I have ever covered in web3 and crypto. It's BIG.

Now is a good moment to zoom out for some perspective. What do you think I am referring to with this statement? I made that statement with one topic in mind, but since I've started typing, I'm realizing it’s applicable to many things right now.

I bought into a new NFT project this week. It's funny, you can go from being so focused on research and due diligence for a project, like I did with the Nas royalties on Royal, but then turn around a few days later and buy on impulse, random timing, and pure vibe.

Happy New Year, everyone! Last year was a lot of things, and 2022 will be a lot of other things. In the macro, maybe the new year will be better and maybe it will be worse. It has been a fun run of doing these at the end of each season, but Season 38 will likely be the final time you will see the Counter Nature Advanced Awards. Hopefully, the four iterations of these awards have been exciting and joyful for both readers and winners alike.

This season was full of twists and turns in which we saw a lot of teams rise (and fall) from our last ESEA Advanced power rankings list. So without any further adieu, let’s take a look at how the top teams stack up against each other heading into the postseason.

The Counter Nature Advanced Awards are back for Season 37. The dust has settled from the recent season, with Team Verum stepping to the top of the trophy podium, and Season 38’s first two matches are released. The first season without a professional team competing out of the last three seasons deserves acknowledgement for the division’s best performers. Unfortunately, we will quickly be brought back to reality with the two professional organizations ATK and GODSENT competing in S38. 

Counter Nature CS will be going into its fifth season in S38. We are not stopping. We want to continue our progress & provide our team with the best opportunity to achieve Premier and tournament success. In order to do that, we need a bigger and more reliable team to help.

Season 37 of ESEA Advanced is already over--well, the regular season. Playoffs are all but started now, and we finally have a truly and fully competitive table. No Brazilian team in this season, after the Imperial Sportsbet team departed the NA Advanced scene as quickly as it appeared. 

Counter Nature is happy to present our Advanced Awards for Season 36. It has been awhile since we have released awards; Our last being Mid-season awards for Season 34. Those Awards proved to highlight some impressive players who have gone on to do big things, and we are hoping to showcase some of the current players who will have a bright future in this season’s version.

It’s crazy to think that we’ve already reached the half-way point of the regular season for ESEA Season 36. But, alas, here we are. The Counter Nature Top 10 has changed pretty significantly since our Pre-season rankings that released in Mid-January. There haven’t been any big surprises in the ranking changes, mainly just some unlucky losses due to teams needing to play with a coach or other stand-in caused by unforeseen circumstances.

We are officially on YouTube! The Counter Nature Show premiered its first episode on July 29th. JAYEL and Xner will be hosting the show on a weekly basis, discussing the latest updates in the Counter Strike scene.

One month into playoffs and we are down to the final eight teams in the Main division. Heading into the Upper Bracket Semi-finals are Valkyrie, GGPR, THE JUNGLE, and PreGamingGG. Representing the Lower Bracket are Counter Nature, Kinship Ghost, MakeWarNotLove, and Random Twitter Org. There are both some expected faces, and some unexpected faces in this final eight. We break them down and some of their stories in this article--including a recap of our final season rankings!

At last, the dust has settled. The highly anticipated Lower Bracket Final came to its end, with Third Impact spoiling the highly regarded RBG Esports 2-1. Now, we will have another rematch between Third Impact and Thunder Logic in the Grand Finals of ESEA Advanced. This was a match-up that no one in the Counter Nature Bracket Pick Em predicted, but it is the match-up that is deserved for both of these teams and all of us who will watch it.

Only three teams remain in the ESEA Advanced Season 34 Playoffs. Thunder Logic, RBG Esports, and Third Impact. This group of players all believe they have what it takes to conquer Advanced and earn their auto-bid into MDL. Only one team will get this birth, and one team already has a map advantage to do so: Thunder Logic.

With the third round of Advanced playoffs starting tonight, Nartouthere goes into detail about what happened in round two. We finally made it to playoffs, y'all. Season 34 of ESEA Advanced has been a great one--potentially one of the greatest. Now, all of the hard work from the regular season is coming to a head. The grind to make MDL really comes to the stone, and only a select few will make it. Round 1 was full of clean sweeps, but there were a number of great stories that came out of it. Danny "cxzi" Strzelczyki is a current FPL and Rank S player who has earned over $20,000 in hub winnings. He was my mid-season ESEA Advanced MVP. This interview was done on 6/7/2020 before cxzi officially left the Supernova roster and was waiting to join ETHEREAL (ex-Polar Ace). We talked about his personal life, how he got into CS, his competitive CS history, the current season, and FPL. As of today (June 27th, 2020), cxzi is looking for an MDL team for the upcoming season.

Three days into week one of season thirty-four and things are already starting to heat up. In today's midweek match recap we’re highlighting some of the hottest games that have gone down already. From Advanced to Open -- here is what you may have missed.

Valorant has been making gaming news all over the world. Anyone who plays first person shooters on the PC (or has heard of Riot Games) knows about its presence. It especially holds the interest of Counter Strike players. Discord servers far and wide had people talking about getting beta keys for the game, jumping into Valorant queues instead of ESEA and FaceIT, and imagining what it would be like to play Valorant competitively--instead of CS:GO. Valorant is growing by the day, there is no questioning this. However, this big shift in focus from Counter Strike to Valorant provides a great opportunity for players who look to make a name for themselves in the CS:GO scene. As with all changes in life and the world, there come new opportunities.

Let me start by throwing some numbers at you. This season there are 662 teams registered for Open, 224 for Intermediate, 130 for Main, and 56 for Advanced. It doesn’t take a mathematician to tell you, that’s a lot. Over one thousand teams registered in total. All that may seem like a lot to keep track of. Luckily for you, we here at Counter Nature are dedicated to doing it for you! In this first edition of “Hot Match-ups”, we look to cover a few of the most exciting games of the week. We gonna talk about the storylines surrounding them, and most importantly: let you know when you can tune into these games!

Season thirty-four is shaping up to be one of the hottest seasons yet, with loads of heavy hitting teams in North America’s top amateur league.

Not too long ago, a strong performance in Main playoffs earned you a spot in Premier. But now, in season thirty-four, competition is as high as ever and more needs to be done to advance into the upper tiers. Main could now be considered the true proving ground of league play.
