Dear everyone who has been struggling,

It's ok. COVID put a lot of weight on all of our shoulders in some form or another and the massive amount of international news and conflict can be overwhelming. You're strong but it's ok to not be ok all the time. Just take a deep breathe and realize that you're not alone, and you're not responsible for being perfect--no one is. You are just fine and you can always be better, and you can always be worse; However, you will always be you and that's perfect ❤️

Something that has been a nice mantra for me, was a little saying born by my mother:

In this letter, I will share some art I've admired recently, as well as a brief headline from one of the Ukraine-Russia side-stories. I will reserve most of my commentary for only one topic in this letter, which is probably the most important: Le Doge 🐕

⚽️ Russian owner of Chelsea FC makes statement on sale of club

Roman Abramovich, the Russian billionaire who owns the English football club, Chelsea FC, has been making an admirable exit from his precious sports asset. Below is his latest statement on the sale of his beloved club, as pressures build to have Russian assets seized at the international level as the crisis in Ukraine rages on.

The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club. Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

Please know that this has been an incredibly difficult decision to make, and it pains me to part with the Club in this manner. However, I do believe this is in the best interest of the Club.

I hope that I will be able to visit Stamford Bridge one last time to say goodbye to all of you in person. It has been a privilege of a lifetime to be part of Chelsea FC and I am proud of all our joint achievements. Chelsea Football Club and its supporters will always be in my heart.

🐕 The Doge NFT

No matter who you are, if you have internet access, you probably know about Doge and the corresponding meme. Did you know the original picture used for the meme, was made into an NFT? Did you know that you can own fractional shares of this meme, and even stake these fractional shares so that you receive ownership of the specific pixels that make up the picture of Doge? This information overload is indeed a lot, and indeed factual.

I had been tracking this project for many months and finally decided it was time to jump in. The leadership over at Doge NFT had been really positive about me sharing my content that I create in these letters and the community matches the Doge: Kind and welcoming.

With the above being said, the project just makes sense. The Doge meme will live forever on the internet, and if you are a part of my generation, you know this to be true. Why wouldn't you want to own a piece of it?

For those of you who may be suspicious about the legitimacy of the Doge NFT, it was minted (created) by the owner of Kabosu, the Shiba Inu that is in the photograph. So, it is real and has provenance. Once the NFT was minted, the PleasrDAO bought it for 1696.9 ETH, which was valued at about $4 million at the time of its purchase (June 2021). PleasrDAO is a collective of early adopter NFT and DeFi adopters and innovators that pool funds to build communities and collect digital art. PleasrDAO spun the Doge NFT purchase off into its own project, @OwnTheDoge, AKA The Doge NFT.

The Doge NFT was purchased and then turned around to be made for the people of the internet--as it should be.

Enthusiasts can buy the $DOG coin, which acts a share of fractionalized ownership for the NFT. If you want to own a specific pixel of the Doge image, you can stake 55,240 $DOG in return for your very own pixel of Doge history.

Turning 55,240 $DOG will grant you a specific pixel of the Doge image, which acts as your own NFT. You also have the ability to buy a Fast Food Doge NFT, which is a sort of partner project. Fast Food Doges spin right into the meme culture of the project and of course, I bought into all aspects of it.
